Description
C. 100-200 AD. Roman Imperial period. A beautiful gold ring with a D-shaped hoop, pronounced shoulders and flattened bezel enclosing a sub-circular red carnelian cabochon. This elegant yet simple design, with a red gem which evokes the deep red hues of Roman wall painting, embodies the wealth of its original owner. On the basis of the high-quality workmanship and the excellent polish of the cabochon, it is possible that this gorgeous item once adorned the hand of a Roman senator.
Excellent condition; wearable.
Size: UK: N, US: 6.5.
